Retirement News Articles – Bonus Story
Though this bonus story is from Fox News, I would label it a non-partisan, historically accurate look at the eerie similarities between the 1968 and 2024 Democratic National Conventions, both held in Chicago. As an example of the similarities, I had forgotten that Lyndon Johnson had decided not seek re-election, shortly after Robert Kennedy decided to enter the race. This is a very interesting story, whether you follow politics or just have an affinity for history.

Hurricane Katrina did a number on the Gulf coast in 2005. So much damage was caused, that a portion of Amtrak’s “Sunset Limited” line was significantly damaged to the point it was inoperable, and has been since then. Article one shares the good news that the missing portion will be back in 2025.
West coast road trips are famously popular for many travelers. Article two points out that the east coast may be underrated, and has its own share of trips that actually can offer a bit more variety than those you find on the west coast.

With article one, you have to be sure to “read around” the ads that are sprinkled throughout.
